I took Rob Cornish’s Evergreen Passive Income course today, and I wanted to share it with you.
I’ve taken a few affiliate courses in my time, and this is the first one that didn’t have me putting in huge amounts of time just to set it up and get traffic flowing to it. I’m going to implement Rob Cornish’s method into my business model and see if I can’t get some cash flowing.
Where I Heard About Rob Cornish and Evergreen Passive Income
I got an email from WarriorPlus, but about that same time, Paul Myers mentioned the product in his newsletter. I expect he will promoting it as well. For those of you who don’t know Paul, he sends out a valuable newsletter over at TalkBiz.com. I know Paul via this thread over at the WarriorForum: What to do if you’re desperate
What You Get
- 10 instructional videos
- PDF cheat sheet
- A copy of Rob’s slides
The videos were concise. The longest one was 25 minutes and some change. The rest ranged between 5 and 6 minutes, give or take. If I must sit through a bunch of videos, the shorter the better. Otherwise, I get bored, you know? I am the rare case that prefers a PDF.
The cheat sheet negates the need to take notes, and y’all know that I’m an avid note-taker.
I haven’t looked at the slides honestly.
What I Learned from Evergreen Passive Income
You don’t have to be an SEO expert to get traffic to your online reviews. In fact, Rob says don’t stress over SEO at all. Write for people, not search engines. If you frequent any SEO sites, they usually emphasize the same thing.
I’m not sure why we insist on optimizing. Even I’m putting in all of my Yoast stuff on this post “just in case”.
Use a service like CB Engine to find great products to promote.
Choose products that have sold well over a long period of time, 6 months minimum.
Use the E+A+E system:
Run traffic with a good headline.
What It Leaves Out
Rob leaves out a lot of the mumbo jumbo I’ve heard in a lot of other affiliate marketing courses. I was to the point where I kind of felt that free traffic was just something folks added in because it pacified the newbies.
Maybe free traffic generation actually works.
I’ll tell you that I’ve procured 2 lucrative writing clients in the last 3 months with free traffic like forum signatures and my blog.
There’s not a time frame as to how long it might take to begin generating a steady income of $200+ a day. In fact, Rob never revisits the initial promises he makes regarding that.
Regardless, a basic affiliate marketing course in a day without a ton of set-up and days of promotion is intriguing.
I literally started implementing the techniques right away.
